Albert counts one, two, three...

Down by the river
Was Albert the alligator hunting his dinner
When he saw three little fishes
And counted one, two, three!
But before he could have a bite
He saw someone under the moonlight
It was the crocodile singing with a banjo on his knee!

"Why have three little fishes?
When there are so many other dishes...
I heard there are some green slimy frogs
Swimming in the stinky pond."

"Thank you crocodile," waved Albert with a smile
And went to the stinky pond.

Then, at the stinky pond
Stood Albert very calm
When he saw three green slimy frogs
And counted one, two, three!
But before he gave a snap
He saw something under the tree's branch
It was the crocodile singing with a banjo on his knee!

"Why have three slimy frogs?
When there are nicer things you can afford...
I heard there are some grey furry rats
Swimming in the mucky swamp."

"Thank you crocodile," waved Albert with a smile
And went to the mucky swamp.

Then, at the mucky swamp
Stood Albert ready for a romp
When he saw three grey furry rats
And counted one, two, three!

But before he could grab a rat
He heard someone behind his back
It was the crocodile singing with a banjo on his knee!

"Why have three grey furry rats?
When you could have amazing flying bats...
I heard they are having a nap
Hanging upside down in the darkest cave."

"Hmm... I guess you might be right...",
Said Albert quite polite
And pretended to go away into the darkest cave.

But Albert didn't go
He just hid there with his head low
And saw the crocodile
Swallowing the three grey furry rats
One by one until they were all gone!

"You have tricked me all along!"
Jumped out Albert with a frown.

"You have eaten all the three little fishes,
With the three green slimy frogs,
And the three grey furry rats,
And you would have eaten the three amazing flying bats...
While singing with a banjo on your knee."

"Please forgive me alligator,
maybe I should just see you later,
but if you go now to the lake,
there might be some juicy snakes."

And Albert just stood there with an open mouth
Holding his breath and counting slowly
"One, two, three..."
