Cathy, the Magician!

Cathy was a caterpillar who lived in a tree. She enjoyed spending time with her three hundred brothers and sisters eating leaves all day. But she was also curious to see the world and wanted to find out what was beyond the tree. One day, she packed her bags and was just about to leave when she heard a voice coming from one of the branches above. "Yum, yum! But what do we have here?" said a robin staring at her with big hungry eyes. Cathy felt a gulp in her throat. She would end up being the bird's breakfast before she could travel and see the world. "You're quite right that I'm very tasty indeed. But what if I were to tell you, Robin, that I can double my size with my famous GIANT magic trick? Surely you'll want to have a much bigger meal!" "Oh yes, yes indeed!" said Robin with excitement. "Come back in a couple of days then and I'll show you what a giant looks like!" said Cathy.

A couple of days went by and Robin arrived at the same spot with two more bird friends. They sat on one of the branches and waited for Cathy to show up.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you will not believe your eyes. I, a tiny little caterpillar have now become a GIANT! I am so gigantic that I can easily block out the daylight with my enormous shadow... I give you all, the world famous... Cathy the Magician!"

Then Cathy came out from behind the leaves and indeed she looked gigantic! She had spent the last couple of days eating so many leaves that she had grown exponentially.

"Oh Bravo!" said Robin with delight. "Not only will we have a tasty caterpillar for breakfast but a gigantic one as well."

"But what if I were to tell you that I can transform myself into a gourmet delight with my famous MORPHING magic trick? Surely you'll want your meal to look presentable for such distinguished guests."

"Oh yes, yes indeed!" said Robin with joy.

"Come back in a couple of days and I will show you what a gourmet dish looks like!" said Cathy.

A couple of days went by and Robin arrived at the same spot with all his friends and family. This time, there was a strange looking house hanging from a leaf and a voice coming from inside said:

"Ladies and gentlemen, what you're about to see should not be tried at home. I have been living in this house working on my magical transformation and I'm so different now that you'll have to hold on to your seats... I give you all, the world famous... Cathy the Magician!"

Cathy came out from the hanging house and looked completely transformed... she had now turned into a beautiful butterfly.

Every single bird in the audience started clapping and they were taken away by the show's excitement.

"Oh Bravo!" said Robin with delight. "Not only will we have a tasty caterpillar who has turned herself into a giant but who now has also dressed for the occasion."

"But what if I were to tell you that thanks to you, I'll be going on tour to give more magic shows! All I can do in return is give you free tickets so you can invite all your friends and family to every single show!"

"Oh wow, really?" said Robin in disbelief. "Well, thanks, Cathy the Magician for this wonderful gift. May I please have your autograph?"

Cathy signed as many autographs as the birds wanted. She then packed her bags and waved goodbye while flying away into the sunset. After a while, Robin was left with his beak open for having let Cathy the Magician escape right in front of his eyes.
